Ember is looking for a highly motivated developer to work on our embedded wireless networking protocol stack. You will be part of a small, elite team responsible for our core technology, in which every member is critical for the success of the product. You must have systems design skills in order to develop and implement simple solutions to complex distributed communications problems in an extremely resource-constrained runtime environment. We are looking for creative, flexible, pragmatic, self-motivated individuals with excellent communications skills, a passion for great code, and a love of problem solving in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test Ember's core wireless networking protocol stack.
• Work with Ember customers to understand their applications and provide the most effective solutions to customer requirements.
• Participate in ZigBee and IETF working groups to define industry standard protocols.
• Work closely with platform and tools software teams to fully understand system wide functionality and integration issues.

Requirements

• 3-6 years experience in software development with a strong background in C
• Ability to absorb new ideas in new domains quickly
• Experience with software engineering processes and the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation
• Experience with one or more routing protocols (ospf, rip, etc) a plus
• Experience with TCP/IP a plus
• Experience with network security (ipsec, ecc, pki) a plus
• Experience in highly constrained, real time, embedded environments is a plus
• Experience using both simulations and hardware testing a plus
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• BS/MS in EE and/or CS

Candidates will be asked to:

• Candidate will be asked to submit a programming example.
• Describe their experience with software development methodology and practice.
